Näytä tavallinen näkymä : Recommendation for a commuter bike
Hei kaikki!
Sorry for posting it in English. My Finnish writing is still not good enough. However, please feel free to post your answers in Finnish as I can understand Finnish quite okay.
So, a total newbie here! I'm looking for my first commuter bike (probably a hybrid bike) for year-long use. My commutation path is about 11km in total, 3 days a week. I'm not sure how much should I spend, but a 1000e price tag is kind of my ideal, although I can go up to 1500e if it is necessary and the value for money increases significantly. Low-maintenance is my first priority, but again, as I am a newbie, I'm not sure what else should I consider.
So far, I got interested in Roadlite and Commuter models by Canyon, but I'm not sure if I can find something more valuable with more / less. Any suggestion is highly appreciated!
Kiitos!

Työmatkapyörään tarakka ja valot, helppoon huoltoon napavaihteet. Canyonin commuterista noi löytyy, lähtisin sillä alkuun.

actually would buy two bikes for the year-round cycling, quite many here like me myself have two separate seasonal bikes. One let's say faster summer-optimized bike and the second for the winter use. The winter bike can be a cheap second-hand mtb-bicycle, since we have a lot of slush especially in the southern part of Finland. It is waste of money to ride an expensive bike at such conditions. Usually one has to change the transmission on yearly basis.
On the other hand, it is nice to have a light-weight and fast bike without any qweek-qweek and qwaak-qwaak noises in summer-time. I have a Roadlite cf 8, and I am riding 90 % of my summer rides with that.
You will get different opinions, but this is mine and I have had at least two bikes for 20 years now. That is, at least separate summer and winter bikes

This is actually an interesting idea and sound legit to my ears! I was exactly worried about slushy roads in winter and decided to go with internal gear hub (like Shimano Nexus 7), but I guess I won't go a long way before maintenance in this condition anyway. Having two bikes means I can go for a normal gear summer bike for a better price.
Anyway, thanks for you suggestion. I will definitely keep it in mind and keep an eye on tori for a used mountain bike.

Kiitos vastauksestasi.
I actually checked their website and there are two options in "Commuter" line-up matching my budget: Commuter 5 and 6. They are identical in every spec except for dynamo, front and rear lights, fenders with attached rear rack (which I'm not going to use anyway) that Commuter 6 has for extra 400 euros. Does it really worth going for Commuter 6 where I can add the lights and fenders myself?

Kona Dew on aina myös vaihtoehto. Saa myös Helsingistä.

Tässä haettiin helppoutta? Silloin on helpoin ostaa paketti, missä kaikki on jo valmiina.
Hyvällä pyörällä on kiva ajaa.

Do you need spike tyres then be sure you get a bike which can accommodate those with even mudguards.
A 29" MTB is very capable commuter too so look those if you have for example trails near your commuter paths.

Thanks for the heads-up. Can you give me a hint about what should I look for to accommodate the spiked wheels? Should I look for a specific rim size (or avoid any)?

More like clearance at the frame and/or fork for them. Also 27,5" wheels don't have much options.
